Pre-trip instructions

Thank you for booking on to Bushbash! It is important to prepare for your trip by reading the below instructions (scroll down to find the trip relevant to you). Also remember to check out our How Fit and What Kit? pages so you arrive on your trip with the right gear.  

Kepler Survival

Meet location: inside the Wapiti Bakery, next to Fiordland Frontier Supplies, The Lane, Te Anau 
Meet time: 9am sharp

What to bring and wear: Bring your own filled water bottle and a small backpack for your packed lunch (lunch provided by us). Wear sensible footwear (walking shoes are OK but ankle boots are better). Dress for the weather (a waterproof coat if raining and a jumper if cold). Wear old clothing you do not mind damaging; this is a back-country experience. Long trousers are not essential but stop your legs being scratched by undergrowth. A good alternative is thermal leggings with shorts over the top. For more information see How Fit and What Kit?

Tiger Eyes 

Meet location: Pearl Harbour, Manapouri 
Meet time: 9am sharp 

What to bring and wear: Bring your own filled water bottle and a small backpack for your packed lunch (lunch provided by us). Wear sensible footwear (walking shoes are OK but ankle boots are better). Dress for the weather (a waterproof coat if raining and a jumper if cold). Wear old clothing you do not mind damaging; this is a back-country experience. Routeburn Wild

Meet location: Wapiti Bakery, next to Fiordland Frontier Supplies, The Lane, Te Anau 
Meet time for the trip: 7am sharp 

Important pre-trip briefing: The day before your trip, there is a pre-trip briefing at 5pm, also at the Wapiti Bakery (directions above). This briefing lasts no more than one hour and you need to attend to fully prepare for your trip. At this briefing, we get to know you, check your kit, show you the gear we will be providing, and give you a last minute opportunity to purchase anything you still need from our excellent local outdoor shop Fiordland Frontier (next door).You also choose your tramping food from our selection (included in your trip price) and we give you a full outline of what to expect on your trip and answer your questions. You also complete a short medical form.

Mount Titiroa

Meet location: Wapiti Bakery, next to Fiordland Frontier Supplies, The Lane, Te Anau 
Meet time for the trip: 7am sharp
